The animals we bring into our lives are our partners, companions, caregivers, guides, and guardians. Animal massage, Animal Reiki, and even Equine Assisted Therapy are the perfect complementary therapies to support training/groundwork, aging/retirement, competition, compassion fatigue, major changes to routine or living situations, grief, anxiety, PTSD/C-PTSD, disharmony between caregiver and animal, and so much more.

The Animal Healing Services offered here at Work of Heart are certified through the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT) as well as the International Association of Animal Massage & Bodywork (IAAMB), both of which are the governing bodies of their respective fields which ensure that practitioners adhere to a strict code of ethics and standards of practice to promise safe, transparent, and ethical practices for healers, clients, and caregivers- both human & animal alike.

What is Therapeutic Massage?Therapeutic Massage is a collection of techniques designed to relax the body and relieve "knots" or tension, and this term is mainly used to differentiate its practitioners between those who work towards a wellness goal and those who offer illicit and illegal services. Make no mistake, the practitioners and services offered at Work of Heart are geared entirely towards wellness goals. Any solicitation for illegal activities before, during, or after a treatment session will be immediately reported to local authorities. What is Orthopedic Massage?Orthopedic massage takes Therapeutic massage to the next level and uses techniques from any and all modalities in combination with Orthopedic tests and techniques for the purpose of bringing balance back into the physical body. These sessions focus on relieving tension, softening scar tissue, releasing stuck fascia, and identifying areas of muscle weakness/imbalance in order to have LONG LASTING (often permanent) effects on areas of chronic pain, especially when combined with other wellness programs. Clients often report significant increases in mobility and significant decreases in pain/stiffness/tension in a single session! BOOK NOW

What is Medical Massage?Medical massage is Orthopedic Massage that is prescribed by a doctor. These sessions, because they were prescribed by a physician, are often eligible for insurance reimbursement. These sessions are under the strict guidelines of the physician and what is written on the Rx! BOOK NOW

What do I wear to my massage appt?Massage clients are asked to dress down to their comfort level, bearing in mind that any articles of clothing or jewelry left on during a session will get massage oil/lotion on them. Clients usually wear underwear or shorts, and will remain fully draped under warm blankets except for the areas being worked on. PLEASE DO NOT BE NAKED ON MY TABLE. For new client sessions, PLEASE WEAR GYM CLOTHES! It is very important that an accurate baseline is established during your new client session, and assessments are exponentially harder if you are wearing jeans or office clothes since we are going to be testing your range of motion, gait, and posture.

How can I get FREE massages?Veterans are eligible for FREE massages by booking their sessions with me through the VA Community Care Network! Non-veterans can earn FREE massages when they log into their account through my referral program, loyalty rewards program, or becoming a VIP member.

Do you accept insurance?At this time, Work of Heart is not partnered with an insurance network. However, as an established medical service provider with an NPI#, services may be eligible for reimbursement with your insurance provider. How do I pay for my session?Clients have many convenient ways to pay for their sessions and can choose from Cash, Zelle, Paypal, Venmo, CashApp, or credit card. Clients can also pay for their sessions using their HSA/Flex spending accounts as long as those cards are added to their Paypal wallet! (select Paypal at checkout and be sure to select your HSA/Flex spending card)

Do you offer a discount program?YES! Veterans, active duty military, and first responders are all eligible for my discount program on all services. Service animals and those working in animal rescue and rehabilitation are eligible for specialty discount programs on my animal-related services.

What is Reiki?Reiki (Japan) is quite similar to Qigong (China) and Craniosacral Therapy (United States) as a biofield energy healing technique. At its core, Reiki works on the principle that many physical ailments in the body can, and often do, start on the energetic (emotional/mental) level and works to balance mind, body, and spirit. By inducing a deep state of relaxation, Reiki activates the body's parasympathetic nervous system and calms the sympathetic nervous system in every session- supercharging the body's innate ability to heal itself. What do I wear to my Reiki appt?Clients are to remain fully clothed, but comfortable, and will have the option to snuggle under warm blankets with an eye mask for ultimate relaxation. Belongings like phones, purses, wallets, belts, watches, hats, and shoes are asked to be removed and stored on nearby chairs and shelves in order to keep the body and mind distraction-free.

Can I learn Reiki?YES! Anyone can (and should) learn Reiki! Never let anyone convince you (or anyone else) that you must have some "baseline level of psychic ability" to be a phenomenal Reiki practitioner for humans or animals. That is simply not the case, and no matter WHO you are, those skills WILL develop the more you learn, practice, and build your confidence in your unique talents. What is Distance Reiki?Because of the nature of energy (scientifically speaking), it is possible to connect on an energetic level with clients who are not even in the same room as their practitioner. Master-level Reiki practitioners are specifically trained and highly skilled at being able to deliver Reiki sessions beyond in-person sessions. Doing Reiki sessions over Zoom is called a "Distance Reiki Session" and is JUST AS EFFECTIVE as Reiki done in-person!
